Co-ord sets, a matching two piece or dresses… which do you prefer?
Co-ords, matching sets, two-piece outfits, twin sets. Call it what you will. we LOVE the versatility of these outfits. They look like a dress, but they fit like separates & give you way more options in your wardrobe.
Did you know we don’t sell dresses at LKL. Instead, we sell mix and match two-piece sets. This may sound strange, but it is completely intentional, and we’ll tell you why…
A more tailored fit
Lady K Loves is all about dressing for confidence and making yourself feel good. And how you can do this with the clothes you wear. We’ve all had those times where an item doesn’t fit right, spending the whole time thinking about it & constantly adjusting it… Not fun, and not likely to make you feel super confident. But there is another way! The beauty of two-piece sets, is that you get separates that fit you all over, so no more wriggling, pulling, and fidging to get back in your outfit.
With two-piece sets, you get a much better fit. Gone are the days of wearing a dress that is drop-dead gorgeous, but doesn’t fit properly in the slightest.
Another reason we opt for two-piece sets over dresses, you get to decide the sizes you want for your body shape. i.e, if you have a full bust and smaller hips, larger top half than the bottom, or the other way around. Say you’re usually an M on top, but an S on your lower body, that won’t be a problem with two-piece items. That’s the beauty of it.
Women’s bodies are unique and wonderful. Some of us have short bodies and big busts, others have long bodies and small busts, or full hips or narrow shoulders, full upper arms, longer rises… The list goes on. You name it, we have it
Flexiblity, meaning more options for you & your wardrobe
With two-piece Sets, you can create unique vintage-inspired looks with these items. You can wear the pieces together, or with items in your current wardrobe.
You select a blouse and skirt made from the same fabric. Worn together you get the simple and overall look of a vintage dress, but with the ability to better match your sizing.
Separate them out, and you’ve got a range of great outfits rockabilly style just ready and waiting to go! Our two-piece sets look great either apart or together, meaning our sets can really expand your wardrobe – giving you many rockabilly style outfit options and the ability to choose between a ‘dress’ look or a blouse and skirt – the extra bonus being, that being separate means you’ll get a better fit in both items!
Getting more wear out of them – they’re a lot more wearable
Maybe sporting the whole outfit feels a bit overwhelming for you & slightly out of your comfort zone. Sometimes it can feel like you’re in fancy dress. Trust us, we feel you!
It can be quite intense. Especially if you feel like you don’t have a specific event or time where you can actually wear the full co ord set regularly. You’ll feel you aren’t getting the most bang for your buck. Because let’s be honest here, is there anything worse than buying an outfit, wearing it once, and not having any reason to wear it again? It does feel like a waste.
With two pieces, you won’t have to worry about this. With 1 of the items out of the 2, that’s enough to create the vibe & impact you’re going for, and be able to express yourself without feeling overdone or too dressed up.
This brings us to our next point…
More environmentally friendly
Our two-piece sets are a lot more environmentally friendly. Fabric that’s used on other pieces can be bought & then worn separately or together. And the reasons we mentioned above: two pieces are more wearable & you’ll get more use out of the items in comparison to one dress.
Our aim is to create great clothing which is sustainably and ethically produced (you can read our full ethical policy here) and which makes you feel fantastic when you wear it.
This is a classic pairing. You can opt for Spiderweb print if you have a more gothic/alternative style or for Halloween. Or Plum Floral for all of the seasons.
This combo gives us definite cottage-core vibes. Picking apples in the summer and berries in the Autumn.
